Cheri V. – July 2016 – Torre del Falco is FABULOUS!

Our family of four had the pleasure of staying in The Falconer for 10 nights. The property was even more lovely than depicted in the photos. The scent of jasmine and Rose is everywhere. Each rental has a private seating and dining area. We dined at “home” several times outdoors under the jasmine covered pergola while gazing at the Umbrian countryside. We all enjoyed the beautiful pool. The mini horses and cats were a treat as well and kept our children very entertained. Beatrice is so incredibly kind and offered restaurant recommendations and assisted with train schedules. Spoleto is a gem. We found it to be a fantastic location for many adventures!! Our family agrees that it was the best holiday we’ve taken and I know that is due in large part to the perfect accommodations at Torre del Falco. I highly recommend this property. We hope to see Beatrice again! Other highlights of our trip: 1. truffle hunting with Wild Foods Umbria (experience of a lifetime); Marmore Falls; hot springs of Saturnia; Orvieto; and getting lost in Italy!

Paul – July 2020

Guido (IT) – Luglio 2019

Anne T., August 2015 – Charming property with stunning views

Our group of 12 stayed in the Tower and we were very happy with our choice. Staying in such a beautiful and unusual property certainly helped to make our holiday. The Tower is beautifully decorated and furnished and very well maintained – the photographs on the website are a true reflection of its condition. The main kitchen on the ground floor is large and very well equipped – there is everything you need and more. There’s also a handy small kitchen on top floor which leads to the Terrace. The terrace has stunning views and was well used by us for both breakfast and sundowners. I noticed another review said the rooftop terrace couldn’t be used because there was no shade – this has been rectified and the table is shaded. The property’s grounds are truly beautiful – a lot of care and attention is obviously devoted to the garden area. The pool is large and great for lap swimming – great for us. There is a large outdoor table, a double BBQ and the garden is beautifully lit in the evening – wonderful for evening meals. The property is a five minutes (maybe less) drive from Spoleto. It is walkable, although as the property is on a hill, the road is winding and largely unlit – so the walk is less inviting in the peak of summer or at night. Spoleto itself is enchanting, as well as having all the facilities you need and there are just so many places to visit in the area that we will have to go back again to explore more. We also managed a trip to Rome, which only took an hour and a half by train from Spoleto. Beatrice, the owner of the property, was a great host. From our initial contact with her and throughout our stay she was both professional and very helpful. She answered all our initial queries promptly and during our stay she recommended and booked restaurants for us and had great suggestions for days out and things to do. She can also arrange a local cook to prepare meals for you – in the end we ran out of time to do this but would be on my list at another visit. Beatrice lives in a property in the grounds but was very discreet throughout our stay. We had a fabulous holiday thanks to Beatrice, her beautiful property and the surrounding area. It is definitely worth a return visit.

A Google User reviewed 3 years ago – Overall Excellent

It is always a bit scary to reserve a holiday on the internet and – despite the website and the pictures – you are never sure what you will find but what a surprise when we arrived in Torre del Falco. It exceeded even our most wild expectations We immediately fell in love with the beautifully restored tower, the garden and the swimming pool, not to forget the cherry tree. The house is very spacious and furnished with a lot of loving details. A cosy homely sittingplace, bright airy rooms, immaculately clean bathrooms and the most wonderful of all terraces on top of the tower…Beatrice came in every day to check if everything ok and tried to fulfill even our smallest wishes. After a day of roaming the countryside, it felt like home when we saw our tower ! We will be back, definitely

Anonymous – April 2016 – Splendid charming peacefull

The loft is so beautifull, very bright, with private terrace, and open kitchen. I’ll be back at Spoleto and torre del falco.

Fabienne Moreau -26 June 2009 – Perfect accomodation in a perfect landscape.

The villa was perfect and exactly like on the pictures – wonderful renovated. We all had enough place (12 persons), the pool was great and really big. The garden is very pleasant and smells like rosmarin! We had a wonderful time there. Thanks beatrice for your kindness. Fabienne

Simona A., June 2015

Joanna A., July 2014 – Stunning!

Torre del Falco is even more beautiful than the photos. We stayed in the Falconer for one week, it is a beautiful property which has clearly been thoughtfully furnished and decorated to a very high and luxurious standard, we loved the private garden which have stunning views across the vally. The grounds are perfectly manicured, beautiful scented flowers and lots of jasmine, the pool was a delight with various seating and sun-beds. Beatrice was very welcoming and helpful during our stay and we will definitely be returning. If you’re thinking of booking this, don’t hesitate,

Cathy – September 2019

This is truly a gorgeous property. Far exceeded our expectations. The views of the surrounding hills were breathtaking. Landscaped with great care. Roses, rosemary, lavender are plentiful even at end of warm growing season. Beatrice was extremely communicative before arrival and during our stay, Since she lives on the property she is always available to answer inquiries etc. Highly recommend Marmore Falls in Terni. Amazing man-made waterfall! Highly recommend this lovely property.

Tracks – September 2009 – Lovely property in a stunning setting

A very warm welcome kicked off a wonderful and relaxing holiday. We loved the cottage, it’s beautifully decorated and in a stunning and peaceful setting. Although snug there was enough room for us and our baby and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed. The owner was lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. She was great for tips on places to eat (a pizza place in an old church she recommended did excellent pizza, and Tempio del Gusto was also a top recommendation for a nice romantic dinner). Spoleto is a lively and interesting place with plenty to keep you occupied. The Nest is on the edge of town, and although it’s within walking distance it would probably be advisable to drive at night because the country roads are very dark and windy. It also makes a great base for touring the other sights of Umbria. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see as much as we’d planned – relaxing by the pool in such a beautiful setting proved too irresistable! I notice that a previous reviewer found there was not enough storage space. When we visited there was a large wardrobe and some drawers in the bedroom, so we had no problem unpacking all our luggage and then storing our cases under the bed.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway.

Cooganhill – September 2009 – Perfect for a relaxing holiday

Perfect for a relaxing holiday, ideally located close to the Town of Spoleto but on a private and quiet hillside. Both the Tower and the nest are furnished to a high standard. The jewel in the crown of this property is the pool and gardens, perfect for cooling off and relaxing after a days sightseeing.
Recommended for: Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway.

Kathleen A. – 1 June 2013 – Scenic comfort in Umbria

The beautiful, relaxing Falconer was everything we hopedfor, and more. Neat, clean, comfortable accommodations; well-equipped kitchen;nicely landscaped grounds and breathtaking view. Beatrice’s on-sight butunobtrusive presence was most helpful and welcome. There were four of us in ourunit (mother, father, daughter and son-in-law), occupying two bedrooms with twoadjacent full baths, allowing ample privacy for all. The facility was trulymagnificent ! We would return in a heartbeat.

Cathy G. – July 2018 – Umbrian splendour!

We absolutely loved our time at Torre del Falco. We were looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay in Umbria but also wanted to be within easy reach of a town should we feel like exploring. You are just a few kilometres outside Spoleto and it was very easy to drive down the hillside, park in the shade and wander in to explore the town. And there is so much to see – plenty of Roman archaeology and churches, frescoes and cafes to keep you occupied! We were also there during the Festival of Two Worlds which was an added bonus with plenty of events and concerts to choose from. The Nest is small as shown but is extremely tastefully furnished and we found the space very comfortable for our week’s stay. The kitchen is really well equipped and we ate outside mornings and evenings at the small table in our secluded area near the base of the tower. The gardens really are as wonderful as they look in the photos. You can swim in the amazing pool or simply sit and unwind gazing out across the hillside. Roses surround you everywhere adding to the elegance of the setting. We loved our characterful cat companions and the sweet miniature horses snorting in the olive grove. Beatrice is everything you would wish for in a host – helpful, kind and knowledgeable of the local area, restaurants and walking possibilities. We were only here for a week, and mainly to rest, so we didn’t explore very widely but our day wandering around Trevi following the Footsteps Trail was a day happily spent! Thank you Beatrice for our wonderful stay in your stunning location – we hope to return for a longer stay!

Toby (GB) – September 2019 – Wonderful

Absolutely stunning place – beautiful grounds and gorgeous apartment in an amazing location with extraordinary views. We had everything we needed as a family and it was incredibly convenient for Spoletto and other nearby towns. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Artem L.,June 2015

It was Wow! Thanks Beatrice for everything: beautiful house, lovely garden, her hospitality & fantastic place with terrific nature!

Corinna C. – September 2016 – Splendido! Luogo incantato

Anonimous – October 2019

We loved the beautiful location and the lovely garden with a barbecue. We really enjoyed the great walks into town and back every day… If you enjoy a good incline hike back from town, then we suggest you try it! We also appreciated the very clean, modern and beautifully decorated apartment (We stayed in the Loft). Beatrice is amazing and she kindly welcomed us much earlier than check-in and gave us a map and many great suggestions of places to go in the area. She was very attentive and made sure we always had everything we needed to feel comfortable and welcome. We hope to return one day soon!

Turid M., NW – 30 Jun 2013

Our family, 12 members all together, from the age of 1 to 60 years old stayed at Torre del Falco for two weeks in july 2012. It was like a dream! The tower and the garden was more beautiful than the pictures can tell. Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipted. The tower had everything we needed and the garden was full of roses, beautiful trees, green grass, small places to sit at your own and a lovely table in the shadow where we had our meals. The children loved the cats, the two donkeys and the sheep, and we walked down to the animals several times a day. The wiew from the roof is incredible and can not be described. The pool was lovely and clean, really a place for relaxing and sunbath. The owner, Beatrice, was very helpful and took good care of us. She helped us with everything, what to see, where to go, practical questions and whatever our family needed. We all walked up and down to Spoleto every day, but a car is needed. We have stayed at many places in Italy, but Torre del Falco is one of the best. We would like to return because the place is so beautiful, because Beatrice took so good care of us, and because there is so much to see in a short distance. We higly reccomand Torre del falco.

Pam C. – June 2017 – Castle of Our Own in a Story-book, Idyllic Setting

When my husband told me he had booked us a castle of our own on a hilltop in Italy to celebrate our 33rd anniversary, I thought he was overstating it. Until I saw the online photo. And I soon found that photo did not do the place justice. As most beauty—the camera just does not capture. We had arrived at Torre del Falco after several days of travel that been exhausting. We were caught in the recent British Airways debacle in London (beginning of our trip radically changed, luggage lost, etc.) and so by the time we got to Spoleto, I was a little emotionally and physically spent. My eyes perked up as we drove the winding road up to the flower-lined driveway and when we got to the top and arrived on the property, my eyes widened and were filled with the glorious, unimaginable view. And that was just when we met Beatrice! Beatrice met us at our car and was the loveliest of hosts. She took us to our castle, made us feel at home and did everything in her power to make sure our stay was the most special it could be. It truly was. My husband and I had the entire tower to ourselves with many rooms from which to choose, and of course, we wanted to stay in the top floor to have the pinnacle. Our view at the top was extraordinary to say the least. When something is indescribably beautiful, I like to say “It broke my eyes.” Torre del Falco broke my eyes and filled my heart. I would recommend Beatrice Panichi’s special, unforgettable place to all my friends and more. I will never forget her or her castle.

Alessandra – Italy – luglio 2020

Bellissima struttura curata con vista magnifica, comoda a Spoleto.

Emanuele G. – June 2016 – Molto soddisfatto!

I had an amazing time is Spoleto. Torre del Falco is a very relaxing and welcoming place to spend a few days. We stayed a week in this cozy apartment and are very satisfied. The pool area also is amazing and the host is extremely available and kind. I do recommend to stay there and I hope I will be able to go back sometime soon.

Roberta (IT) – Aprile 2019

Claudio N. – April 2017 – Soggiorno fra storia e natura

Gillian, July 2014 – Fabulous apartment, great pool.

We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment. It was fabulous, spotlessly clean, very well maintained and a lovely private patio to sit outside. The pool was amazing, really big with lots of pool furniture to laze about. A first class property; I would recommend highly. The friendly owner lives on site with sweet cats.

Sabrina Z. – Giugno 2017 – WE a Spoleto

Speriamo poter tornare presto!

Jeremiah C., 30 July 2014

Everything about Torre del Falco was perfect. The grounds, views, flowers and pool are as beautiful as the photos suggest, if not more so. The pool is long enough for lap swimming, and the mild salt water is much nicer than chlorine. The interiors are finished to a high standard and in excellent taste, simple but very appealing, and very well maintained. It’s tempting just to relax by the pool for hours on end, and some of our group did that from time to time, but the location also is ideal for going to any number of wonderful places. Spoleto has a lot to offer and is very atmospheric. It’s just a few minutes’ drive to the main carpark with moving walkways to the center. The walk from Torre del Falco to town is also very nice, taking only a half hour even for the uphill return, and a moderately fit 65-year-old did not find it taxing. (We didn’t try the walk at night, but with a flashlight I think it would be fine.) Daytrips to fascinating and beautiful places, including the Montefalco vineyards as well as the many famous towns, were easy to manage by car or in some cases by train. (Service to Rome is very frequent; we were surprised by how much of Rome we were able to see in a daytrip by train.) But perhaps what makes Torre del Falco most special is the way Beatrice cares for her guests. As we were planning our trip, Beatrice responded very thoroughly and candidly to our endless questions. We sensed that we could rely on her to give us helpful and accurate information, and we were right. From the moment we arrived, Beatrice was very attentive and personable, making us feel like family. She lives on the property and was always available to help, yet was never intrusive. We found that to be ideal. Another thing that made our stay so nice, and which I would recommend to others, was that Beatrice arranged for a talented local cook (I should say chef, as the cooking was of a very high standard) to make dinner for us on 5 of the nights we were there. That arrangement could not have worked out better; Alessandra made wonderful meals emphasizing the local ingredients and traditions, and was very pleasant to deal with despite the fact that she speaks no English and we speak no Italian. Beatrice went above and beyond to make these arrangements, to check that we were enjoying the meals, and to serve as translator. All in all, this was the most enjoyable stay I have experienced anywhere, and our entire group was delighted with it. We shall return!

Riccardo S. – September 2016 – Meravigliosa esperienza.

Grazie infinite.

Ginny B. – 4 July 2019 – The best of everything!

Spectacular! Beautiful property, host very gracious, location perfect! Would highly recommend and would come back for a month!

Cristian S. – April 2016 – Definitely my favorite accommodation in Spoleto

I have been to Spoleto many times and stayed in several places but I have to say that Torre del Falco is definitely my favorite one. Furbished in typical local style with some Medieval/ancient flavor, this place is immersed in the nature and surrounded by an enjoyable quiet and tranquility, perfect to rest. At the same time it is few minutes from Spoleto’s town and the historical center. The property includes a tall ancient tower with several floors, spacious rooms and an amazing terrace on the top where it is possible to enjoy breathtaking countryside views..a perfect place for the morning breakfast. It has also a master apartment and a spacious dependence all perfectly and tastefully furbished. Outside there is a spacious open are and a beautiful pool equipped with bed.The whole property is very clean and the landlady, Beatrice, is second to nobody for her hospitality and courtesy. She is very friendly and enjoys the presence of guests. I would strongly recommend a stay in this beautiful and peaceful place, where you can dream to jump back in the past and relieve the stress of your everyday’s life,

Helene V. – June 2018 – Beautiful hillside retreat, with great service too

Liza T. – October 2016 – Spoleto Villa heaven

This was the most divine location in Umbria very close to Spoleto. Beatrice was a magnificent host, the facilities were impeccable, and having a pool and other facilities such as a BBQ and courtyards truly made our stay special.

Cinzia (IT) – May 2019

Topper!!

Ann High – 10 August 2013 – Spectacular villa

We cannot recommend The Falconer villa highly enough.Beatrice was a fantastic host and she has furnished all three villas (the Nest, the Tower and the Falconer) to a very high standard. The surrounding gardensare beautifully kept and our teeenage children loved the swimming pool. Spoletois a beautiful medieval town with many shops and restaurants. Go to ‘Biondi’, a shop with great choice of pasta, truffle oil, biscuits and much more to takehome as gifts. Located in the Umbrian hills you should expect to walk up hillquite a lot! Beatrice was so helpful in advising on restaurants and places tovisit. We visited Rome by train which is only an hour and a half from Spoleto.Parking bays (the ones marked White) at the station were free. Assisi is alsowell worth a visit. The scenery from the villa is spectacular, it truly is agreat place to really relax and unwind. We cooked on the bbq frequently and thesupermarkets are close by. We used the Conad mainly. Thank you again Beatricefor making our summer holiday in Spoleto so enjoyable. We will never forget it.Hope you will visit us in England one day! xx

Alessandro A- Giugno 2017 – Soggiorno incantevole

Khristelle L., August 2015

Heinrich H. , DE  – 24 Aug 2013

Hi all, we are a family of 4 and we stayed at the Tower during the last week in August. As probably many people have experienced often pictures are more promising then reality. In our case it was absolutely the contrary! Pictures cannot grasp the stunning and unique atmosphere of this exceptional location. Not only that the rooms and everything inside this tower gives proof of the tasteful arrangements of the whole facility; it is this atmosphere which made our stay such a great experience. This is just a wonderfull place where one can relax and get down again from stressfull times to find the inner balance. Even our “modern” kids were thrilled by the experience of staying at this great place. We would have loved to extend our stay but Beatrice’s place was already booked. Beatrice is a wonderful host who has created one of these rare locations where you can find the “muse” to write a book or create art-work. I can highly recommend te Tower as well as the Falcon for families and groups of people who want to have a nice and relaxing break!

Graham Walkinshow – 15 June 2013 – Staying at the Falconer

Staying with Bea at The Falconer was a magical experience! This is a very special holiday retreat. The apartment is stylish and spotlesslyclean with the most beautiful terrace filled with fragrance from theStephanosis and the abundance of roses. The views from the terrace arespectacular; we enjoyed sitting by the barbecue with a glass of wine watchingthe sunset over the far hills. The pool is wonderful – surrounded by more rosegardens. When we returned home we immediately went to buy roses for our gardeninspired by Bea! Spoleto is an interesting historical town very worth exploringand the local region is full of old hill-top towns equal to any in Tuscany. TheNational Park is very accessible; it is remote and tranquil and pretty withsurprising historical churches and monasteries tucked away off the beatentrack. Staying with Bea and her family of cats is like staying with an oldfriend who has nothing but your own enjoyment in mind. Rest at the pool; enjoylocal restaurants; wander further afield even to Rome on the train and thenreturn to the friendly support of your host. A holiday destination not to be missed!!

Timothy – June 2019

We loved our time here; very comfortable cottage with a superb pool and very close to Spoleto which is one of our favourite areas in Umbria. We can highly recommend to others.

Gill A. , UK – 7 July 2012 – Heaven on Earth

The drive up to this beautiful place is stunning, but on arrival it took our breath away by its beauty and tranquility. The extensive gardens surrounding the fantastic pool (salt water) are gorgeous and stocked with roses, lavenders and jasmine as well as numerous trees and pergola to provide shade from the sun. There is plenty of seating for all the guests as well as extremely comfortable sunbeds and sunshades. We stayed in the Falconer which had it’s own private garden with stunning views across the valley, a lovely table and chairs under a pergola for alfresco dining as well as sun loungers and chairs, bbq….in fact everything we needed. The Falconer itself is so pretty and very spacious with a lovely lounge which is extremely comfortable opening on to a wonderful italian kitchen. The bedrooms (1 twin and 1 double) are beautifully decorated with gorgeous bedding and furnishings as well as having their own ensuite bathrooms with super soft towels. Everything was beautifully clean and sparkling and all the lilttle touches show that Beatrice (the owner) has a real flair for interior design….nothing looked out of place. Beatrice is a lovely lady who is so helpful and friendly, she is also an animal lover (as are we) and we were delighted to meet her beautiful cats and her gorgeous little shetland ponies (Matilde and Marguerite), in fact they helped to make our holiday complete. Nothing is too much trouble for Beatrice and she is so kind and caring. The walk down to Spoleto is breathtaking with glorious views along the way. This is mainly downhill, so I would say that you have to be quite fit for the walk back up….good for burning off the calories of all the delicious food we consumed during our stay. It is an easy car drive down and we found it easy to park at the bottom and walk into Spoleto which is a fascinating town/city with stunning cathedral, castle, architecture, shops, cafes, and restaurants….there really is something for everyone. Staying at the Falconer is a perfect for exploring this part of beautiful Umbria being within easy reach of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few places. Everywhere we stopped felt like something out of a film set. I can honestly say that staying here is like heaven on earth and we enjoyed it so much that we are going back this year. So all I can say is ciao for now and here’s to July 2013…..Torre del Falco…..Falconer here we come!

Jacinta Hendrick – 07 May 2011 – A Wonderful Time at “The Falconer”

In mid May we stayed at the Falconer 2 bedroom villa and had a very enjoyable stay. The villa is immaculate, with 2 en suite rooms, and very comfortable with plenty of facilities for home
cooking. Each morning we enjoyed breakfast outside and views of the valley below in the tranquil surrondings of the rose filled garden. The pool was cleaned daily and is perfect for cooling off on hot afternoons. The villa is home to several cats and a beautiful minitaure pony called Matilde – she will greet you in her paddock on your return each evening! Spoletto is a lovely town with several quality restaurants and a perfect base to explore the surrounding Umbrian countryside. Your host Beatrice will deal with any queries and provide good advice for local interests.Visiting Umbria? the Falconer is a perfect place to stay!

Tanya A. – 27 July 2013 – A stunning property in a beautiful location.

The property was beautifully clean and maintained and thegrounds were tended with great care by Bea, the lovely owner. I woulddefinitely recommend it to friends. The salt water pool was much nicer than theusual chlorine treated pools. It was an excellent base to explore Umbria’sbeautiful countryside, towns and villages. There is plenty to do with rafting, wine tasting, walking, riding as well as enjoying the fabulous food and wine ofthe area in the many friendly, well priced, local restaurants. A great holiday!

John and Ann , Canterbury, New Zealand – September 2012  – Tranquil perfection

We were lucky to have 3 weeks at Beatrice’s paradise lastyear. One week in the Nest and 2 in the Falconer. Charmingly decorated andfully equipped it was a perfect setting to unwind after a strenuous couple ofyears. Beatrice was extremely helpful and the cats and ponies a delight.Spoleto itself has a lot to offer, not least the wonderful restaurants thatBeatrice can recommend. But this is a perfect spot to explore and enjoy thedelights of Umbria. Fascinating hill top towns, historic buildings, great localfood ad wine…you couldn’t wish for more. We also had fun shopping at localmarkets and cooking the purchases back at the Falconer. Touring Umbria by caris easy. Don’t miss Spello, Assisi, Orveito and many others. A surprise anddelight was a day trip to Castelluccio…..a must. Good train services madelunch in Rome or Florence a simple outing. Great grounds and a superb pool. Itwas a privilege to meet Beatrice and share in her wonderful property. Highly recommend.

Sarah C. , UK – 08 September 2008 – Perfect for a relaxing holiday

Silja J. – July 2016 – Wonderful stay near Spoleto

Our family (two adults, two children aged 7 and 8) enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Falconer apartment. It is just as described on the website with two cosy bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen that provides for everything you need, as well as a large private outdoor space with wonderful views over the valley. It is very clean and thoughtfully furnished with lots of attention to details. Beatrice is a very charming host with answers to any questions you might have, but who does not impose herself on her guests. The shared swimming pool is great, again with stunning views over the valley and surrounded by a lovey rose garden. The children particularly enjoyed the two little ponies and the numerous characterful cats that live on the property and add a particular peacefulness to the place. Spoleto can be reached on foot via a quiet downhill road through the wood, but going up the hill at the end of a full sightseeing day can be strenuous. However, there are taxis, as well as a good parking system in town. Spoleto is lovely, and you can spend hours wandering the labyrinth of roads, steps and squares. The cathedral as well as the church San Salvatore are stunning, and we would particularly recommend to wander the Giro dei Condotti, a round walk in the hills around Spoleto giving wonderful views to the town. Further afield we made great excursions to the Great Plain (Piano Grande), to the towns of Orvieto, Bevagna and Montefalco, as well as to lots of hidden mountain churches and abbeys. We would also highly recommend the 19 km walk between Spoleto and Sant’Anatolia di Narco on a disused mountain railway line. It leads through a few dark railway tunnels (up to 600m) which you should only tackle with a torch, but which add a huge excitement to the walk.

Lyne D., August 2015

Deria L. – Giugno 2017 – Paradiso in Terra

Conor Collins (US) – June 2019

Absolutely perfect! Complete tranquility near Spoleto. The accommodations were spotless and spacious. The true highlight is the garden and pool area, which overlooks the mountains. The cats that lounge throughout the property were my favorite part and of course the lovely Beatrice who helped us have a spectacular holiday.

Dean S., September 2015

We had a wonderful stay. “The Nest ” was clean, well equipped, comfortable – – all in a very pretty setting. Beatrice was prepared for our arrival, made sure we were comfortable, provided all the information we needed; then she gave us the exact amount of space guests need. The pool was exquisite – – again, well equipped ( chairs, umbrellas, an excellent outdoor shower, etc.). Apples, grapes, flowers, rosemary and lavender abound. It is really close to Spoleto and accessible to eastern Umbria. Conversations with Beatrice were delightful.

Marilyn T. – June 2017 – Paradise

Spoleto is a beautiful place to visit. It’s has a lot of history and the people are really nice and very helpful. Torre del Falco is a beautiful and peaceful place to relax with beautiful views. Me and my family had a great time there!! Beatrice was an excellent host and a very knowledgeable person of what to do and where to go in Spoleto. I would highly recommend her place to single travelers or families.

M. Bouchier – 20 September 2008 – Lovely Torre del Falco

We had a wonderful stay in the lovely Torre del Falco. In need of r&r we settled seamlessly into its beautiful environment. The attention to detail, spectacular setting and proximity to the lovely Spoleto have made it a must to revisit. Thank you Beatrice.

Goran K., August 2015

We were two families of a total of 10 pp that visited “Torre del Falco” in august 2015. Our kids range 8-17 yrs. The Tower is a fantastic place and Beatrice is an even more fantastic host. The house is very comfortable and the different floors makes it easy to stay several families with good privacy. The garden and pool area leaves nothing to wish for, beautiful flowers, a very useful outdoor dining place and a very large and fresh pool. It is a stretchy walk (or 5 min drive) down to Spoleto but well worth it. The town is great with interesting things to see, good restaurants and is very beautiful with roman-midieval architecture. The surroundings are nice for walking, biking and of course sight-seeing. Beatrice was very helpful and a fantastic person. She helped us organize as well catering, tips on excursions as well as fixing practical stuff that we needed help with. I give the Tower and Beatrice my warmest recommendations for families or anyone else. You will have a great time. We already long to go back!

Lesley – August 2019

This is a unique characterful place to stay, decor very much in keeping this, very charming! Beatrice is great and organised a cook for celebrating my daughters 30th….highly recommended. As you are made aware in the description, there is other accomodation on Site, so like a small resort. The Tower being by far the largest…..there is heaps of space around the pool ( and beautiful gardens!) but if you are a fairly noisy group ( as we were!!!,) it could be a problem. Everyone was very good about our boisterous bunch but others may not be so accommodating! The cats are quite characterful…..but they do like to come into the tower…so hard to leave doors open etc! The upstairs terrace is beautiful for evening Prosecco…..just don’t forget the glasses, it will keep you fit going up and down!!!, Spoleto is a great place…enough character but not overrun with tourists….and of course the best pistachio gelato in the world!!!!

Milla (Fi) – August 2019 – ust beautiful and peaceful home for holiday in Umbria

Loft appartment was just what we needed for our relaxing and peaceful holiday. No need to buy salt, oil or even coffee for the kitchen, wich was nice suprise. Garden and the pool just beautiful and very well maintained. Beatrice is lovely and helpful hostes. We hope to come back one day.

Marcie. F – May 2018 – Absolutely perfect in every way

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend Torre del Falco. Everything was impeccable right down to the smallest detail. From the well appointed kitchen which was fully equipped for experimenting with classic italian cooking to the table and bed linens. The space was stylish and cosy and made for a tranquil and comfortable oasis after a day of sightseeing in the surrounding area. The villa is bordered by roses and rosemary which were in full bloom for my visit in May creating a beautiful fragrant atmosphere that complimented the stunning view of the Umbrian hills. Signora Panachi was a terrific host offering privacy and assistance when necessary. There was even a wood burning BBQ which added to the authentic experience of living the ultimate Umbrian lifestyle if even for a short while. This property had all the comforts including a beautiful pool and a private outdoor area where we could dine and curl up with a book. This is a truly wonderful property with beautiful apartments for a wonderful vacation experience. I would love to stay for a month or longer and look forward to returning. There is much to see in the surrounding area which makes it the perfect base to explore from and the nearby town of Spoletto is a true gem. Thank you Beatrice for creating this magical place. It is a labour of love and I am grateful to have experienced it.

George S. – June 2016 – You won’t want to leave

After climbing up a winding road just outside Spoleto, you enter an oasis that Beatrice has created for herself, her guests and her cats. A crystal clear swimming pool is surrounded by flowers and plants. Roses bloom everywhere on the property. A lighted path leads up to the loft, which is perfect for two people. The interior is spacious and nicely decorated. An expansive balcony is a great added space that extends the feel of serenity. Everthing is immaculate and modern. Like us, you might get the urge to stay in this idyllic setting, but Spoleto waits below with its charming neighborhoods. From a convenient parking garage you’re carried into the heart of the old city. Don’t miss Cuore e Sapore, one of our favorite restaurants on our entire trip. But access to day trips elsewhere in Umbria and Marche is easy if you can tear yourself away.

Simone S. – Giugno 2017 – Spoleto in natura e relax

Struttura eccellente, proprietaria molto disponibile, gentile e cortese.

The Agneessens – 30 May 2009 – Paradise

This is as close to paradise as you will ever get. A very spacious house, restored with an eye for detail and beauty. The rooms are bright and airy, brandnew immaculately clean bathrooms and a very cosy homely sittingroom with splendid view over the property. Large garden with nice outside terrace, swimmingpool with enough easy chairs for everybody. Beatrice is an angel, coming in every day to check if everything ok and trying to fulfill even the smallest wish. The countryside around is perfect for walking and you will find more charming villages then you can visit in a lifetime 😉 We hope to be back one day !

Ellen W. – April 2016 – Amazing

The property and apartment were a combined spectacular experience. Spoleto itself is amazing, and staying in this fabulous apartment, beautifully decorated and with such a wonderful view made the experience perfect. The property is beautifully designed and tucked away for solitude and overlooking the mountains. I highly recommend a stay here (and bring some tiny treats for the small ponies).

Toine H., August 2015 – Prachtige sfeervolle locatie

Sarah Pike – June 2014

We were a group of 6 (a family of 4 and a couple) who stayed in the Tower for 3 nights. What a SUPERB experience. It was exquisite. Beatrice (and others) work very hard to ensure that your stay is great and the grounds and the accommodations are perfect. The saltwater pool is wonderful, and from the outside furnishings to every part of the interior furnishings and decoration, no expense has been spared. Everything is very high quality and beautiful, which only adds to the fantastic experience. Beatrice clearly has a decorator’s eye (if not years of interior decorating experience?). There are 4 accommodations altogether: the Tower, which sleeps 12; one that sleeps 4; one that sleeps 2; and Beatrice’s apartment. So, yes, you are all at the pool together (if the other accommodations are rented). But the pool area is large, with many chaise longues. Also, the 4-person accommodation has its own separate outside area, around the corner and away from the pool. The Tower and the 2-person apt. are on the pool side (though the 2-person apt. has its own table behind a screen). The cats are gorgeous and super-friendly, as are the other animals (2 horses and a sheep). The gardens – especially the roses – are fantastic. It’s about a 5-10 minute drive from Spoleto. All in all, a fantastic and VERY relaxing experience. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Mark Scheerboom, June 2014

We had the most excellent stay at Torre del Falco. We stayed for one week in “the Nest” a really cosy cottage but big enough for me, my wife and our two year old daughter. The cottage was very clean, well furnished and equipped with everything we needed. The property has a huge and beautiful rose garden with a nice big pool. It is well located on a peaceful hill with a great view and no other buildings, but only five minutes away from the centre of Spoleto. As for Beatrice: She was a very nice host and helped us with all the information we needed. We will definitely come back one day! Mark, Adeline & Féline

Andrew Mac Leod, June 2014

Words almost literally can not describe how fantastic this property is. The views, the pool, the quiet, it was perfect. We were 7 adults and none of us wanted to leave. Beatrice is an excellent host. She was extremely responsive and helpful – the best kind of Airbnb host. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. It really does need to be experienced.

Sean McKnight – 21 August 2009 – We Didn’t Want to Leave

The tower was a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable and roomy with good bedrooms and a generous number of bathrooms. The rooms are decorated very sympathetically and the three bathrooms are reassuringly moderrn. Its great to have the battlements – a good place just to imagine your a feudal lord. The little kitchen is also a nice touch, though we only manged one big meal on top.
The lounge is comfortable and airy. The kitchen is large and homely – nice and cool during the day as well. Overall the tower is 21st century comfort but with a wonderful medieval charecter. Outside there is lots of space and the best pool our family has ever had on holiday (and we like a our pools). Considering how close you are to Spoleto the views are really rural. There is a hum of noise from the road in the valley, but that is the modest downside of being able to walk in 20 minutes into the centre of medieval Spoleto. You are competely unaware of the nearby properties, but a 5 minute drive takes you to a decent supermarket. A beautiful place to stay where it is so tempting just to stay at home – however you must tear yourself away from the tower on some days as the area is so lovely and un-touristy. On top of it all Bea is a trully generous host who really looks after her guests – the care she took to make sure our car window (badly cracked on the journey) got repaired was really kind. To rent a place from someone who was so helpful and very very nice really made our holiday wonderful.

Marta C. , US – 25 May 2013 – Stupendous location, charming accommodation

I was researching the vacation rental my family (myself, husband, 5 month old son and my father) would enjoy for our late Spring holidayin Umbria. Although I diligently scanned numerous options all around the regionand selected a “top 5” based on our needs & wishes, this listingimmediately and consistently stood out, and after I checked off the prioritizeddetails (choice of location – conveniently close to the jewel of a citySpoleto, yet as tranquil as a remote ‘castello’; decor -for infant friendliness;swimming pool -salt water!) the Falconer was a clear winner. Then, getting tocorrespond and meet our lovely hostess, Beatrice, our experience continued tounfold smoothly and delightfully. Her abundant garden and living spaceamenities were charming and just luxe enough to make us feel how special ourtime there was, without any pretention. She kindly made a baby crib availableto us, and provided wonderful recommendations for local sights, cuisine andtravel logistics. The only misfortune was the unseasonably cold weather thatkept us from having more occasions to enjoy the incredible view, across thelush, green valley and make use of the al fresco dining set up and _gorgeous_pool, but we remarked on it every time we exited our little cottage (beneaththe tower that sleeps 12) and especially upon arriving home. We would go backin a heartbeat, especially if we could add family and friends and take over theproperty, with hot summer weather : ) We would recommend this listing, forfamilies with children, or for romantic getaways, or for more aged travelers, really anyone who has the good sense to want to explore Umbria!

Gregory Marlam – 16 August 2008 – Rapunzel must be here!?

This is a place out of a fairy story. The renovation is perfect and the tower a novelty that is very well equipped. The owner is beyond perfect in her help so that the holiday does not have any hiccups and Spoleto has a very friendly Italian population. It is within easy reach of Rome by train but it is better to drive around the area of Spoleto. The pool is wonderful and young and old enjoyed it tremendously especially on the hot days. The mornings are cool and the sun radiant and though the property is it is within an area of great walks. Our family of 9 people found it large enough to enjoy solitude as well as company. This is the Italy that we all think is “Amore”.

Rachel S. – August 2016 – A piece of heaven on earth!

Il Torre del Falco is my favourite place to be, ever, without exception! I have visited three times over the last year, staying in The Nest last summer, The Falconer last Autumn and most recently this summer in The Loft. Beatrice has created a heaven on earth here: the gardens and olive groves surrounding the property are so pretty and the views beyond are breathtakingly beautiful. During my recent visit, I watched Beatrice tending her roses over two days and, when she had finished, it was time to go back to the beginning because there are so many. It is clear that she is totally dedicated to maintaining her little slice of heaven for everyone to enjoy. Sometimes, she allows the two miniature ponies, Marguerita and Mathilde, to run amongst the olive trees on the upper slope and I can honestly say that I have felt as though I might have been transported to Narnia and that they must surely have little horns in the middle of their foreheads! It’s just idyllic. I had such a lovely stay this time in The Loft. It occurred to me that Beatrice could have quite easily added another bedroom to this property – there is plenty of space – and no doubt this would generate a greater income, but I have learned since my first visit to Il Torre that she is a perfectionist and she understands the elements that make up the perfect holiday. She shows great thought in the way that she designs and organises the different properties, equipping each of them with high quality fittings and beautiful furnishings. The Loft is both spacious and airy (quite an achievement under the Umbrian sun!) with a very high ceiling – not just in the large living/dining area but also in the bedroom and the bathroom. There is a lovely covered loggia where you can escape the hottest part of the day to read or snooze. Add to this the high-spec bathroom, superbly equipped open-plan kitchen, fluffy towels and crisp white bed linen, and you feel as though you are in a five star boutique hotel. Each time I have visited, the properties have been spotlessly clean, the gardens well tended and the pool crystal clear. When I requested some large glasses (alas, I have become completely addicted to Campari Spritz whilst in Italy) they arrived the same day. Beatrice always reminds me to ask if there is anything that I need and she really means it: she wants to make her guests comfortable and happy. I cannot recommend Il Torre, and particularly The Loft, highly enough.

Magdalena F., August 2015

Wunderschönes Anwesen in jedem Detail. Sehr stilvoll, klassisch italienisch, hochwertige Materialen (Badezimmer, Küche, Wohnzimmer).

Colleen B. – April 2018 – A beautiful, relaxing place

The four days we spent in The Nest were so tranquil and relaxing that we hated to leave and can’t wait to return. The space is small, as the owner has accurately described and shown in the photos. But we found everything so carefully and thoughtfully arranged that the bedroom with queen bed, ensuite bath with shower, and kitchen/living room/dining area were very comfortable for two people. To make the most of the space, we unpacked our suitcases and put our clothes in the wardrobe and small chest, then stored the suitcases under the bed. The property, in the hills above Spoleto, is a very private, quiet location. Since the Easter weather was cool, the swimming pool was not open yet, but the setting for the pool was quite beautiful and we can only imagine what a wonderful place it would be to relax during the summer months, surrounded by the beautiful roses planted by the owner. She also lives on-site. The other three rental units were vacant so the owner was kind enough to show us those rentals as well. They were all beautifully decorated, with modern, well-equipped kitchens and each offered a reasonable degree of privacy with separate patio, balcony, or other outdoor space. One of the greatest assets offered by our vacation rental was the owner herself. Beatrice is a very kind, thoughtful, and helpful hostess. We arrived on Easter Sunday and all the supermarkets were closed so she insisted on driving into Spoleto to buy us some milk and rolls for the next morning’s breakfast. She told us she purchased the property about 10 years ago because she felt that it had a “good energy.” But we think she brought that good energy with her. We enjoyed spending time with her, her two Shetland ponies, and the various cats she has rescued. The cats are all tame and friendly. Communications with Beatrice were very smooth, her English is excellent, all rental terms were clear and as agreed on, and she responded promptly to all my emails. Spoleto, in central Umbria, is a wonderful location for visiting the nearby medieval hill towns, and Beatrice was very helpful in suggesting some of the best ones to visit. She also had good advice on places to shop and dine in Spoleto. Grazie mille, Beatrice!
